Have you ever held an ice cube under a faucet? It slowly melts away right? Well, image that ice cube is a piece of rock and... that is weathering! When the ice cube melts, what happens to it? Does it just disappear? Of course not! It becomes water and flows down into the sink. And that is erosion! Weathering is when water or wind break down pieces of rock.
