Inflectional endings, affixes and root words

What's cooking good looking? It looks like Chen is cooking, he cooks all the time. Last night he cooked lasagna, yum! Do you notice how the word COOK changes as we talk about Chen? In this video, we learn all about root words and affixes. Root words are basic verbs, like COOK or JUMP. Affixes are the little parts of words that we add to root words to change their meaning. For example -ing or -ed are affixes we can add to COOK to make COOKING or COOKED. Join us in this lesson to learn more about the meaning of affixes and how to read them easily.
